THE CALIFORNIA LETTER!

Awrite ! This is for those fellas who will take nothing less than the state of Arnold Schwarzenegger & Beverly Hills for a Residency. To be a special place means you gotta have special credentials. It's funny how this country called USA is called United States and Yet each state seems to have it's own distinctive requirements all the time :-)
For starters, the so-called California Letter is actually a slang for 'Postgraduate Training Authorization Letter' or the PTAL. Like in the US, Bob is a slang for Robert, Bill implies William and so on... ;-)
A PTAL is a requirement for a residency in the state of California.
Yet, there are some programs that will give you an interview without the letter, but they will assume that you WILL have the letter ready before the Residency Begins.

Hi,
I am ready to participate in the 2008 match and I have already paid and applied for the PTAL or Cali letter. But as per Cali it takes 6-9 months to have the letter ready, so I was wondering can I apply for any Cali residency programs since I will most likely not have the letter ready by September 1st??? Can I request for anything that will show to the programs that I am waiting for the letter??? Thanks
ECFMG Has covered the issue well on this - Click here
And thank you for giving me the next topic to blog about :-)
